Pasadena police said a Ford F-150 was run off of Red Bluff Road near Fairmont Parkway at about 11 p.m. on Saturday.
Witnesses said a dark-colored sedan may have brushed against the passenger side of the pickup truck, causing the pickup truck to leave the roadway.
The pickup truck rolled several times, police said.
Cloey Bryan, 12, died at the scene. Her grandmother, Pamela Bryan, died at Ben Taub Hospital.
The victims' family has put up crosses at the scene of the crash. Pasadena police have posted signs asking anyone with information to come forward.
"What happened? Maybe I'll be able to come to terms if we know what happened," said Laci Williams, Cloey's aunt.
Investigators said the driver of the sedan may not have realized there was impact between the two vehicles.
Witnesses said the sedan possibly has four doors and is a fairly late model. Police said it may have light to moderate damage to its left front fender or side.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Pasadena police at 713-477-1221 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

LIFE IS A RIVER

Our life is like a river. The destination is set, but the method of our journeying is up to us. We can cruise down the middle of the river at top speed, or we can hug the shore and spin around in eddies. We can crash over rapids or chart a safer path between obstacles. We can slum along the bottom in the mire and slime of sediment, or we can glide along the sparkling surface where the air is clean. The river is ours from birth to death. How we'll navigate it is determined by the hundreds of small choices we make each day.

To discover our mission in life we must see challenges as opportunities for growth and then face them head on. Each challenge measures our strengths and progress. Even when trials cause pain or sorrow, we must look for new lessons in the pain and ask God for the power to learn and to grow from it. Suffering focuses our attention on what matters most, and with God's help, we can strengthen our spirits by learning patience, tolerance and love. These lessons learned, we become co-navigators with God. But when unlearned, we go into the eddies, spinning around, making little progress, even blaming God for our unremitting suffering.

But, life is dynamic, and the river stretches and bends as we go. A bad beginning does not inevitably lead to a bad ending. In fact a bad beginning can give us strength to create a good ending.

Sometimes you have to get to know the bottom of the river - the seamy, murky side of life that swallows victims whole and never lets them see the light of day. But through unfathomable effort can look up and find God. With his help you can kick addictions and self-defeating habits out of your life. You can fight the undercurrents, disentangle yourself, break the surface of your troubled life and go to a place where pure air and light can provide new energy. You can grow strong and rescue others from the depths. Your beginnings then become the basis for a greater good you will do in life. Your wounds become muscles. Your fears become faith. Your mistakes become experience used to benefit mankind. Anyone can choose either to drown in past troubles or to fight to live

Demons and Angels

Title...

I received this from a friend.  Though it was worth posting either true or not....Funny...

Part of rebuilding New Orleans (after Katrina) often caused residents
to be challenged with the task of tracing titles to their homes... back
potentially hundreds of years. With a community rich with history
stretching back over two centuries, houses have been passed along
through generations of family, sometimes making it quite difficult to
establish ownership. Here's a great letter an attorney wrote to the FHA
on behalf of a client:

You have to love this lawyer ........

A New Orleans lawyer sought an FHA loan for a client. He was told the
loan would be granted if he could prove "satisfactory title" to a parcel
of property being offered as collateral. It took the lawyer three months
to track down the full title to the property which dated back to 1803.
After sending the information to the FHA, he received the following
reply.

(Actual reply from FHA):

"Upon review of your letter adjoining your client's loan application, we
note that the request is supported by an Abstract of Title. While we
compliment the able manner in which you have prepared and presented the
application, we must point out that you have only cleared title to the
proposed collateral property back to 1803. Before final approval can be
accorded, it will be necessary to clear the title back to its origin."

Annoyed, the lawyer responded as follows:

(Actual response):

"Your letter regarding title in Case No.189156 has been received. I note
that you wish to have title extended further than the 206 years covered
by the present application. I was unaware that any educated person in
this country, particularly those working in the property area, would not
know that Louisiana  was purchased by the United States from France , in
1803 the year of origin identified in our application.  For the
edification of uninformed FHA bureaucrats, the title to the land prior
to U.S. ownership was obtained from France , which had acquired it by
Right of Conquest from Spain . The land came into the possession of
Spain by Right of Discovery made in the year 1492 by a sea captain named
Christopher Columbus, who had been granted the privilege of seeking a
new route to India by the Spanish monarch, Queen Isabella. The good
Queen Isabella, being a pious woman and almost as careful about titles
as the FHA, took the precaution of securing the blessing of the Pope
before she sold her jewels to finance Columbus 's expedition...Now the
Pope, as I'm sure you may know, is the emissary of Jesus Christ, the Son
of God, and God, it is commonly accepted, created this world. Therefore,
I believe it is safe to presume that God also made that part of the
world called Louisiana . God, therefore, would be the owner of origin
and His origins date back to before the beginning of time, the world as
we know it, and the FHA. I hope you find God's original claim to be
satisfactory.

Now, may we have our damn loan?"

The loan was immediately approved.
To be human, truly human, is to feel openly.  To allow ourselves to cry, to hurt and to love.  Those are the moments that define us...as us.

The study offers a rare look at how an ecosystem is responding to climate change."

Groundhog predicts six more weeks of winter

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pennsylvania (Reuters) - An American groundhog delivered his annual weather prediction on Tuesday, declaring that there will be six more weeks of winter after seeing his shadow.

U.S.  |  Lifestyle
Dubbed "Punxsutawney Phil," the rodent made his forecast in front of some 12,000 people who came from as far as Chile and the Netherlands and braved a chilly 18 degrees Fahrenheit (-8 degrees Celsius) to see the more than century-old tradition.

If Phil does not see his shadow when he emerges from his burrow, which is a box set into a tree stump near the western Pennsylvania town of Punxsutawney, spring is said to be just around the corner.

Several other Groundhog Day celebrations are held around the United States. A high-profile rival delivered a different prediction on Tuesday, with local media reporting that New York City's "Staten Island Chuck" did not see his shadow.

ROUGH NIGHT OF SLEEP

Made it to work this morning after coughing all night.  Not feeling too good but no matter.

Don't have too much to do at work this week which is unusual but nice for a change since I am done with our move project.

I deleted my Facebook and Twitter accounts yesterday to prevent any further confusion and miss interpretations.  Not worth the hassle and the stress and it is actually nice not having them.  I can breath a little bit more.

Anyway I know that no one reads this but just in case, you have a great day not matter how your treated and keep you chin up and eyes forward.
